Atalasoft Releases DotImage 1.1 now with WebForm Controls
Atalasoft DotImage™ - Imaging toolkit suite developed from inception specifically for the Microsoft .NET Framework
Westfield MA, USA — February 16, 2004 — Atalasoft, Inc., a leading provider of imaging components for developers, today released DotImage WinForms 1.1 and DotImage WebForms 1.1 for the Microsoft .NET Framework. DotImage WebForms is the industry's first full featured imaging toolkit with WebForm controls for ASP.NET. DotImage can be used to implement powerful and high performance imaging into applications in a short period of time. Other improvements to DotImage include a new Twain add-on for scanning and acquiring images, and support for creating multi-page PDF documents containing images, and significant speed and processing enhancements.
"With this first release of DotImage WebForms, developers can add a server-side document image viewer that is fully customizable and tightly integrated with the Microsoft .NET Framework" said William Bither, President of Atalasoft. "This provides an enticing alternative to the traditional Applet or ActiveX web image viewer with no client downloads required and brings document imaging fully to the web."
The web control in DotImage WebForms acts as an image server and gives the user a scrollable, zoomable viewport which is particularly useful when presenting large document images. This control mimics much of the functionality of the DotImage WinForms image control also giving developers the ability to draw a rubber band to select an area of the image. All functionality of the DotImage class library can be accessed with this control giving developers access to many image formats and hundreds of image processing functions. The addition of a managed TWAIN scanning component along with improved performance and document imaging functionality will be another great benefit to developers in all industries.
"Microsoft is pleased with Atalasoft's continued commitment to the Microsoft .NET Framework and ASP.NET." said Shawn Nandi, product manager in the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. "The introduction of an advanced ASP.NET image control will add tremendous value to a product already rich in features and design."
Developing high performance imaging applications often requires months of development and testing. Atalasoft DotImage offers high and low level functionality that can be leveraged in .NET applications to reduce development time and save thousands of dollars. It contains a class library with hundreds of imaging related features as well as WinForm and WebForm components to acquire, display, manipulate, store, and print images. The standard edition is designed for photographic imaging applications while the professional edition is designed for advanced photographic and document imaging applications. The professional edition will efficiently display document images with scale to gray display and specialized document clean-up filters, multi-page support, and auto-deskew as well as including advanced metadata and color management support. Atalasoft DotImage provides rich design time support and detailed context sensitive help that integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2002 and 2003.
