Some systems may have multiple versions of the Twain_32.dll file, which is causing stability issues with our Twain components. Normally, you should only have one of these files located in your Windows folder.
If you are having problems using the Acquisition demo included with our component download, such as a non-responsive scanner interface or general lockup issues, you should check to see if there is more than one Twain_32.dll file on your system. This should only be a problem if the file is in a Windows path folder, such as System or System32.
You will want the latest version to be in your Windows folder, so make sure you compare the DLL versions and save a backup copy just in case other applications depend on that specific version of Twain.
As of version 2.0, we have added code to our components so it will always use the DLL in the Windows folder, unless the only copy of this file is found in System or System32.
