Atalasoft Announces Imaging Solution for the Microsoft .NET Framework
dotImage™ for the Microsoft .NET Framework Accelerates the Development Cycle of Applications Requiring Imaging Technology
Westfield, MA, USA. — April 24, 2003 — Atalasoft, Inc. announces dotImage™ for the Microsoft .NET Framework. Atalasoft extends the reach of its current ActiveX imaging solutions by offering this new imaging component built from the ground up in Microsoft Visual C# .NET using the .NET Framework. dotImage, supporting both versions 1.0 and 1.1 of the .NET Framework, can be used to implement powerful and high performance imaging into applications in a short period of time.
Developing high performance imaging applications often requires months of development and testing. dotImage contains a set of components and controls designed for the .NET Framework which will “image enable” any application with minimal effort and coding. dotImage steps up to the challenge of efficiently displaying black and white images by including optimized antialias display and processing features specifically designed for 1-bit document imaging. dotImage can also extend GDI+ functionality for raster and colormapped images that might already be used in an existing .NET Framework-based application by offering hundreds of filters, effects, and transforms that will directly process bitmap images. For ASP.NET web solutions, dotImage can be used as a server side library with built in support for HTTP and FTP protocols.
“We have a reputation of developing products that require short learning curves. dotImage not only falls into that category with its rich intuitive object model, it allows hard core imaging enthusiasts to dig deep into imaging. I feel we have mastered the combination of ease of use and feature-rich powerful functionality and we are pleased to be offering this technology to .NET Framework developers” said William Bither, President, Atalasoft.
“Microsoft is pleased to see Atalasoft’s continued support of the .NET Framework,” said Shawn Nandi, product manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. “dotImage provides developers with an imaging component that can make their lives much easier by supporting both simple and complex imaging needs.”
Supporting raster, document, and ASP.NET web imaging, dotImage can enhance and shorten the development cycle of any solution that requires a simple image viewer to a comprehensive image processing application. dotImage, available in both standard and professional editions, is in the final stages of development and will become available to the public on May 13th as a beta with a final release scheduled for July 7th.
