RightFax Web Access customers can now display and annotate fax images without applets or plug-ins
Northampton, MA-February 11, 2005 - Atalasoft, Inc. today announced that Captaris Inc., (NASDAQ:CAPA), a leader in Business Information Delivery Solutions, has chosen Atalasoft Inc.'s DotImage®, a full featured document and photographic imaging toolkit, to enhance its RightFax Web Access connector with the ability to display and annotate fax images without the overhead of client applets or plug-ins.
Captaris RightFax enterprise fax server and e-document delivery solutions help organizations achieve significant cost reductions by integrating and automating the flow of a full range of fax, paper and electronic documents and data. RightFax Web Access connects users directly to their personal RightFax mailboxes via the Web. Whether in the office, on the road or at home, as long as users have access to a Web browser they can send, receive and manage faxes with RightFax. Captaris is using Atalasoft's DotImage thin-client image viewer to give RightFax Web Access customers the ability to interactively view and annotate fax images.

The Atalasoft DotImage for the Microsoft .NET Framework software development toolkit includes components and tools to acquire, cleanup, compress, view, print and annotate images. DotImage includes components for both Windows Forms and ASP.NET WebForms applications. The DotImage thin-client viewer control for ASP.NET included with DotImage is highly extensible to meet the needs of any enterprise looking to add an advanced imaging solution to their .NET applications. The component is used to view, zoom and process images from any input stream. A rubber band selection rectangle feature is available to zoom to an area, crop an image, annotate an image, or apply regional effects.
Many Web based image viewers rely on client deployed Java Applets, or ActiveX controls that are accessed from a Web browser. The DotImage thin-client viewer can be accessed from clients using any platform, or supported browser with a similar look and feel of a thick-client viewer, thus eliminating the need to deploy any compiled code to the client, significantly decreasing deployment and maintenance costs.
