“I would like to thank Atalasoft for funding
these scholarships,” says Ali Rafieymehr, chair, Computer
Science and Information Technology at Western New England

is so important to our students, and it is one of the priorities of the
College’s current comprehensive campaign.” The goal of Transformations: The

outstanding companies such as Atalasoft,” says Rafieymehr, who is also
an associate professor of computer science and information technology.
“Western Massachusetts is a region that needs to
transition from collapsed manufacturing industries to a knowledge economy,”
said Bill Bither, President of Atalasoft. “Local investment in computer science
and information technology education is one of several required steps that need

New Product Demos Online and New FeaturesAtalasoft has updated and added
several demos to the website, please look them over:
New Feature
Added post v5.0 Release: Would you like to improve your application's
thresholding/binarization capabilities? Please take a look at a new command
introduced in DotImage Document Imaging 5.0a called DynamicThresholdCommand. It
does an excellent job converting color and grayscale images to black and white,
without the "hollowing out" effect that Adaptive Threshold could result in. We
recommend changing your applications to use Dynamic Threshold from Adaptive
Threshold when appropriate. It supports parallelizing for increased performance
on multi-core processors using the new ThreadedCommand interface and is even
slightly faster than Adaptive Threshold.

Atalasoft has been providing "AJAX" web controls for ECM applications since 2004, more than a year before the term was coined. We’re hosting a FREE seminar titled “Bringing your Document Imaging Applications to the Web with AJAX” on both Tuesday, April 17th and Wednesday, April 18th at 1:00 p.m.
This presentation will be valuable to anyone interested in Document Imaging regardless of whether you are currently using any Document Imaging toolkits. As a bonus, by registering for the seminar you will be entered to win the Sony Play Station 3 (w/Blue Ray) that we are giving away at this show.

The interview had happened, the photographer had come and gone a couple weeks ago but we didn't really know what was going to happen with the story that Atalasoft's founder and president, Bill Bither, had contributed to. What a pleasant surprise to pick up Sunday edition of Springfield's Republican and see Bill's head above the fold on the front page for an in-depth article, several column-inches long.
What had started out as a story about participation in the Regional Technology Corporation, of which Atalasoft is an active member, turned into a case study of a successful local technology company with Atalasoft as the subject matter.
After providing the writer with a lot of background information as well as Bill's business philosophy, we were unsure of what to expect. It was very encouraging to see how positively Bill's statements, and our company were positioned in the article. We hope that the article will give entrepreneurs in the area, as well as students in the region, more reasons to start a company here and help build a community of innovators and collaborators.
Here's one more link to the article.

The last couple of days, Atalasoft has been participating in a careers and internships fair at the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. eClinicalWorks, one of our customers, was also there recruiting, and it was great to meet their represenatatives in person. After exciting delay caused by a fire alarm at the campus center the show got underway. From our understaniding there were about twice as many companies exhibiting this year than in 2005. Is this a sign that the economy really has improved?
We met dozens of qualified candidates for our fulltime and internship positions. We're hoping that some of the charismatic and energetic people we met over the last couple days will follow up with us and continue to show interest in our openings.
Next week Atalasoft will be at the Spring Jobs Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. We're looking forward to meeting more people so if you know any imaging gurus, or recent college gradautes in the region with the skills outlined in our posted job descriptions, send them our way. We won't be accepting applications after March 1st.
