Major enhancements to Annotations Toolkit including AJAX Enabled Annotations for ASP.NET highlight the latest version

Easthampton, MA, USA. – March 13th, 2007 - Atalasoft, Inc., the leading provider of imaging components and technology for Microsoft .NET Framework-based developers, today announces the release of DotImage 5.0, the latest version of its Imaging Toolkit. DotImage 5.0 introduces a newly enhanced annotations toolkit including AJAX enabled annotations for ASP.NET that works side-by-side with Microsoft’s ASP.NET AJAX controls, optimization for dual-core processors, enhanced document image cleanup features, and an improved TIFF codec.

Atalasoft DotImage is a full-featured photo and document imaging toolkit for applications built using the Microsoft .NET Framework for Windows Forms or ASP.NET. With the 5.0 release developers have access to more sophisticated annotations capabilities including flipping, rotating, undo & redo, callouts, and extensibility to use other rendering mechanisms. One of the most significant developments is the AJAX-based support for server-side, browser-based annotating – the ability to move, resize, and author annotations within the browser without page postbacks.

DotImage 5.0 also includes an interface for parallelizing image processing to improve performance on multi-core and multi-processor machines. The Advanced Document Cleanup module underwent significant feature and performance enhancements with higher quality and speed as a result. Atalasoft also invested in developing a new TIFF Codec from the ground up for improved support and robustness. The Searchable PDF module for OCR now supports automatic page rotation. When used with Atalasoft’s GlyphReader OCR engine, full color OCR with searchable PDF can be achieved with very high accuracy.

Easthampton, MA, USA – August 31st, 2006 – Atalasoft, Inc., a leading provider of imaging components for Microsoft .NET Framework-based developers, today announced the preview release of DotImageFX.  DotImageFX is a library of selected image enhancement effects for Microsoft’s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) Bitmap Effect layer.   WPF is the presentation layer for Microsoft’s new Vista operating system due to be released in January 2007.  WPF is included in the Microsoft .NET 3.0 Framework (formerly WinFX) to be included in Vista, and available for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

DotImageFX makes it possible to apply many effects in XAML to images and any WPF user interface element. With DotImageFX, Atalasoft now provides early support for developers experimenting with WPF, providing illustrative image support of over 60 effects including Mosaic, Oil Paint, DuoTone, and transforms including Ripple, Lens, Ellipse and Perlin Noise.

DotImageFX is a product of Atalasoft’s Research and Development and serves as a technology demonstration.  It includes selected effects from Atalasoft’s highly successful DotImage imaging toolkit.  The download of DotImageFX includes several demos showing how to use effects with Data Binding, XAML, Animation, and 3D.  These effects can be used to enhance user interfaces by being dynamically applied to vector based user interface elements with a single line of XAML markup, or can be more traditionally applied to raster images.
