quality of and filesize problems

Hi, we're using eyebatch 2.0.15 and we are seeing a problem when we use the eyebatch software to batch process our images. We have images taken with a Cannon D20 8 megpixel digital camera and want to convert the images to make them suitable for posting on the web.
We have created a script for resizing the images to 200 pixels wide and then saving the images with a 20% compression however. We have also selected the resolution to be 72dpi and maintain the same jpeg file type. The problem is the images look rather grainy and have a file size of around 32kb. If we manually process each image using paintshop pro we get a much better image quality and a file size of around 14kb. How can we achieve the same results with the eyebatch software? are we missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks
JohnB

Is there any support with this product? We've posted this question here and directly to support 2 days ago with no response? If there is no support offered this should be made clear to us before we send our money to you to purchase a product.
I would appreciate a more timely response to a tech support request.
regards, JohnB

I would not use jpegs to save images, since it is a lossy format and you will always lose some image data, creating thoes weird artifacts in the image. I would use png instead.
