I purchased licenses for dotImage,  Rasterizer and Barcode reader. These licenses were recently purchased. However, I'm working on a project that uses version 3 of dotImage. Can I use these new licenses on version 3, which is now considered a legacy version?

 

The project (re-)builds fine, but when I run the program it throws an "Invalid License Signature"- exception. Ihave changed all references, made sure the config file has the correct version numbers, rebuild the licx file, but still that exeption. Can anyone give me a hint what to look for?

When you activate your serial number make sure you are using the Activation utility that is associated with DotImage 3.0, not a newer one.  That should create a license file for you that works.

I just recreated the license files, just to be sure. The entry for the PDF Rasterizer was missing in the licx file. This is why the the exception didn't get thrown until the application was running.  I added the correct entry per Q10128. I still get the Invalid License Signature on the PDF Rasterizer, but now when I do a rebuild.

When did you purchase PDFRasterizer?  If you purchased it after mid january, you will not be able to use it in DotImage 3.0.  This is because we partner with another company for PDF Rasterization support, and changed this partner during DotImage 4.0.  Unless you purchase the PDF Rasterizer prior to January 15, we're unable to sell you a license that will work with DotImage 3.0.  You must upgrade to 4.0 or 5.0 in this case.

 We purchased it on 02/23/2007. Thanks for the explanation. I was hoping to use version 3 in order to avoid the differences between version 3 and 4 so I could concentrate on parts of the application I really need to be working on.

For what it's worth, you will see a significant speed improvement when you upgrade to 4.0 or 5.0 when rendering PDF's.
