EyeBatch 2.1 Released (now with Vista Support)

EyeBatch 2.1 with support for Windows Vista has been released.  There are only a few changes to this version:

    • Support for Vista added
    • Updated Outdated Documentation
    • Price increased to $59.95 (but quantity discounts apply)
    • Announced that all proceeds from EyeBatch are donated to the charity, www.braintrust.org

Thank you!  There were a couple of weird errors on the install - files not registering - but i just ignored them and it seems to work.

Although that said it just crashed twice, but i was able to process images.  I dont have time to give details on the errors as i'm travelling tomorrow for 2 weeks.

Why, is that Mr. Palmer I see posting?!?  ; )

Hi Bill... so sorry to hear about your Dad...

I believe I have Version 2.0... have to check again when I get home...  I've been a die hard user of it for years, and have recommended it to several of my friends, including that funny British guy that posted above me!  ; )

Anyway, not having Windows Vista yet, and not needing that support, would you say that there isn't too much else that 2.1 would do for me?

    Thanks...

    Thanks for the kind words.

There have been no feature updates from EyeBatch 2.0 to EyeBatch 2.1, only added support for Vista.  There really is no need to upgrade if you're already using EyeBatch 2.0 and are not running on Vista.

Oh, and about the crashes with Vista, we just updated EyeBatch again after discovering more Vista issues that could be causing crashes.

Re: EyeBatch 2.1 Released (now with Vista Support)

Bill, I was very dismayed when I just bought home my new computer and tried to install my 1.6 version of Eyebatch on this Vista system. I have been using Eyebatch for many years now, on my older computers starting with windows 95, then ME, then windows 98, up until my latest windows XP, always moving my program to the newest computer without a hitch. I even have a link on the front page of my website http://reggaephotos.com  to Atalasoft for eyebatch. I use this program all the time in conjunction with Picmeta's Pie Studio and Adobe Photoshop CS2, which by the way all work with Vista. The only program that does not work with Vista is Eyebatch.

I wrote your sales department a Mr. Rick Goudey to find out about this situation only to be told I'll have to purchase the newest version to work with Vista.

On January 13, 2003 I recieved an email from Kim Bither at Atalasoft extending me an invitation to try Eyebatch 2.0, which she said was far superior to 1.6, along with it came my sign in name with registration code. I tried it and found it not up to par with the 1.6 version so removed it and  reinstalled my 1.6.

So I guess I'll have to find some other program to take the place of my old trusty Eyebatch, since I cannot afford to spend $59.95. I just wish it would have worked with Vista.

I guess whey you guys were just a little company your customers mattered.

Looks like I'll have to remove my link to your program from my website

Re: EyeBatch 2.1 Released (now with Vista Support)

I think that you'll find that most software that was released 7 years ago will not work with Vista.  EyeBatch 2.0 was released in February 2002.  It's gone through very few updates since then until earlier this year when we upgraded EyeBatch to support Vista, and decided to dontate 100% of revenues to a charity.  Try installing Photoshop v5 (or whatever the version was in 2000) and I think you'll find that it wont install in Vista either.

Sorry John, but if you want EyeBatch to work with Vista, you'll have to buy the new version.  You'll be helping out the charity BrainTrust, not Atalasoft.
