Glyphwriter munging lines at the top of a form.

Greetings - I'm scanning some standard black and white forms from a crisp TIFF image.  Often the top few lines of a form gets garbled or even merged together.  The remaining 90% of the doc is read fine.

I've researched the settings on the scanner and tried each of the preprocessing options on the engine.  Not always, but in most cases the 2nd page of a duplex scan is the one that gets munged.

I've been struggling wiht this for days and am hoping its a simple fix or something obvious I've missed - but after going through all the docs and demos, and the rest of the system works fine, there's something happening to the engine. Even tried initializing / shutting down for each image with the same results.  Its odd because the doc is clean and the rest is always read fine.  Its the top few lines.

Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards - John

John and I worked on this via support. I just want to post here for anyone else that might run into something like this. Deskewing the document beforehand helped -- so did running a Morphological thinning algorithm on the section that wasn't being recognized.
