What's New

Product rebranding

The Atalasoft DotImage has been renamed to reflect the Tungsten Automation brand. The company that provides Atalasoft DotImage was previously known as Kofax, Inc.

.NET10 Support

Atalasoft DotImage now supports .NET 10. Refer to the Atalasoft DotImage Technical Specifications for full system requirements.

Expanded annotation capabilities

The API has a new method, scrollToAndFit, which enables users to scroll to a specified annotation and automatically adjust the zoom to fit in the view. This method is only supported for Highlight annotations in Web Document Viewer (WDV)

Atalasoft commits to maintaining the highest levels of software security. To safeguard our applications and protect customer data, security enhancements are applied in every product release.

Version information

The version and build number for this Atalasoft DotImage product is 2026.2.0.0.48.

Changes in behavior

The following changes were made in Atalasoft DotImage version 2026.2:

• The Tesseract 3 OCR engine was removed.
• Support for BinaryFormatter has been removed from .NET binaries because BinaryFormatter is not supported in .NET 10.
• The Web Capture Service now supports paths with Unicode characters for saving images.
• A description of the Web Capture Service configuration file has been added.
• If an input file or stream is not supported by a decoder, available decoders for the applicable type are listed in the exception string.

Resolved Issues

730402 - [TxtDecoder] When decoding a relatively large XML file with a preset relatively large PageSize value, some of the XML data is lost.
The XML data is now retained successfully.

Known Issues

• 722017 - Aztec codes are not read when AutoThreshold is true. Aztecs are read when AutoThreshold is false.
• 721789 - When Symbology is set to All, Swiss QR codes cannot be read by BarCodeReader.
• 720995 - Translating to XPS format and then switching the ParallelProcessing option (from false to true or true to false) prevents subsequent XPS translations.
• 720491 - Web Capture Server is not able to detect particular QR codes.
• 720346 - In OfficeDecoder, the mail address of the sender is not always present next to the name on resulting image after decoding .msg file.
• 720345 - The resulting times obtained after decoding .msg files in OfficeDecoder contain both the sent and date time when the message was received. Images should only display the date the message was received.
• 720343 - Contents of .eml and .msg files are not scaled automatically correctly according to the specified width and height of the resulting image.
• 720338 - In result images obtained by decoding .eml files with EmlDecoder, Message-ID is always present.
• 720246 - JavaScript is not processed when rendering HTML files with HtmlDecoder.
• 720245 - HtmlDecoder does not support connecting CSS styles to an HTML page using a reference to an external resource. Use paths defined within the HTML file or a reference to a CSS file in the local file system folder.
• 720144 - Incorrect rendering of some shapes in OfficeDecoder.
• 720143 - HtmlDecoder does not support CSS3.
• 720057 - When using Firefox, there is no response from the WCS when using the HTTPS protocol. This issue occurs only for a new user on a computer. The issue occurs because WCS does not copy a certificate to the Firefox repository in this situation.
• 719731 - Significantly degraded handling of Hebrew compared to the previous OCR engine.
• 719638 - The quality of conversion of recognized image into an .xls file became degraded. This issue may occur in only in specific situations.
• 719635 - The Read() method in PdfDecoder throws exceptions on the x86 platform when rendering PDF documents with large pages.
